Anglican Funds Management has been in operation for over 65 years, Our investment funds have developed into different products that support both the short term cashflow objectives and the long-term investment needs of the organisations.

Investment Fund products are open to Institutional Investors from a range of Christian Organisations across the nation.

Over the medium to long term, our two funds aim to outperform cash and term investments.

ENHANCED INCOME FUND

The Enhanced Income Fund has a primary aim to meet the objective of generating a reliable income stream from a portfolio of quality interest rate securities whilst striving to preserve the capital value of the portfolio.

Over a rolling 3-year timeframe, the fund aims to produce distribution paid quarterly that outperforms the 90-Day Australian Bank Bill Index (BBSW) + 0.50% pa

While there is no investment term, it is suggested that this fund is suitable for investors with a time horizon of 1–3 years.

The Enhanced Income Fund is a medium-risk fund, which suits short to medium-term investment needs of Institutional Investors from Churches, Charities & Schools across Australia. 

The fund has the following characteristics: 

1. Invest in a Fund that is designed to provide an income focused investment and access to funds for short to medium term liquidity requirements while seeking a low level of capital fluctuation.

2. Invest in a portfolio of cash, cash-style investments and other financial assets with returns enhanced by participation in the Enhanced Income Fund. The fund portfolio is designed to outperform the 90-day Australian Bank Bill Index + 0.5%.

3. Invest with Biblical & ESG Considerations

Investments in The Fund are not guaranteed, and their value will rise and fall with the value of the underlying assets that the Fund invests in. The Fund is a market rated Balanced Conservative Fund that invests in a range of asset classes with a significant proportion of defensive assets.

Asset Allocation

AFM’s Enhanced Income Fund is a medium risk fund, which suits the short to medium investment needs of Institutional Investors from Churches, Charities & Schools across Australia. 

The objective of the fund is to ensure a high level of liquidity for our investors, this is achieved due to a high proportion of the fund invested in listed fixed interest securities, corporate bonds, mortgage bonds, term deposits and cash.

The fund deploys no less than two asset managers that make trades on behalf of AFM, portfolio adjustments are based on regular review by management, external asset consultant and input from the Investment Committee. This process ensures regular review and adjustments to maintain the portfolio.

The fund portfolio is designed to outperform the 90-day Australian Bank Bill Index +0.5%.

The Fund is a market rated Balanced Conservative Fund that invests in a range of asset classes with a significant proportion of defensive assets.

ENDOWMENT FUND

The Endowment Fund has a primary aim to of providing a longer-term investment vehicle providing both growth and distributions for your organisations cause, providing the option of bi-annual distribution or distribution re-investment for further growth of your funds. AFM’s Endowment Fund is a medium risk fund, which suits the long-term investment needs of Institutional Investors from Churches, Charities & Schools across Australia, with the following objectives:


• Receive a regular income

• Preserve the real value of their capital

• Invest with Biblical & ESG considerations


The Endowment fund operates with characteristics of University Endowment style, however it primarily invests in listed assets, the fund aims, over the longer term, to produce income of 5.0% pa, paid semi-annually, and over a rolling five-year timeframe, produce a combined return of income and capital growth, after fees, of 5.0% pa above CPI.

Investments in the AFM Endowment Fund are not guaranteed, and their value will rise and fall with the value of the underlying assets that the Fund invests in.

Asset Allocation

AFM’s Endownment Fund is a growth style managed investment fund, which suits the medium to long term investment needs of Christian Institutional Investors. 

The objective of the fund is to provide a growth style investment, with a minimum investment time horizon of 5+ years.

The fund has a target rate of 75% Growth to 25% Defensive listed assets. The fund invests in both domestic and global markets, with a higher proportion of the portfolio in listed shares represented within the growth assets of the fund.

With access to wholesale fund managers the Endowment Fund's portfolio is maintained. The fund makes portfolio decisions in line with its investment policy, regular consultation with an external asset consultant and regular input from the Investment Committee. This process ensures regular review and adjustments to maintain the portfolio.

The fund is designed to provide a target rate of distribution above 5% on an annual basis, with remaining fluctuation in value and growth to unit pricing over the longer term.

The Fund is a market rated Balanced - Growth Fund that invests in a range of asset classes.

Performance

Over the past 12 months the fund has seen favourable performance relative to the benchmark of CPI + 5.0%, with Inflation currently at 3.8% as of June 2024. The fund has achieved a total rate of return of 10.8% (pa) as at 30th June 2024. 

Achieving a 2.0% above the investment target for the year.

Investors received a distribution of 5.7%, with retained earnings applied to capital reserves with an increase in unit price movement from 1.3740 to 1.4397 over the 12 months reporting period.

No. Anglican Funds Management provides Investment Portfolio Services to Christian Institutional Investors in Australia. However, this special class of investor is specific, limited to Christian Schools, Registered Christian Charities, and Incorporated Christian Religious Institutions. Money held in superannuation is governed under SIS Legislation, Under the sole purpose test for Super Investments, money is held in trust for individual retirement benefit once meeting certain conditions of release. As this category is considered investing for the benefit of individuals, Anglican Funds Management is restricted from being able to invest on behalf of Super Funds.

No. Anglican Funds Management provides specialized services via its community fund to Anglican-only investors. One of the additional services offered to Anglican Entities is the ability to participate in applying for loans. Lending services are restricted to Anglican Institutional Investors only. Therefore, if your organization is not Anglican, you would not be eligible to apply for a loan through Anglican Funds Management.
