How to get started
The plan is fully administered by the friendly staff at AFM, and we can tailor our service to suit the needs of your church and its processes. To establish a planned giving program at your parish:
- Decide which giving program you would like supported through Parish Planned Giving
- Decide if your parish requires a custom designed brochure
- Decide if your parishioners will require Planned Giving Supporter slips to place in the offertory
- Complete the attached form and send to AFM via post or email
Once your facility is set up, the staff at AFM will then contact you to arrange for the brochures to be delivered, and you can then launch the program with your parishioners. Parishioners then fill out application forms and can either post them directly to us, or your parish treasurer may like to collect them for internal purposes and then forward them in bulk to AFM.
As completed application forms are received from your parishioners or treasurer:
- AFM staff will immediately enter the details into our systems
- Send a letter of confirmation (along with the booklet of Supporter slips if your parish has decided to use them) to the parishioner

Community Fund - Merchant Facility (Anglican)
Merchant services refer to the payment terminal and/or software used by the business to accept credit card and EFTPOS or debit card payments. The system then settles the payments into the account at the financial institution that issued the payment terminal or software; this typically happens on the same day (same day settlement) or overnight. AFM has an arrangement with Merchant facility via NAB.
AFM provides several options for parish clients depending on the functions required of the terminal.
Funds can be settled direct to your AFM account overnight. If you have Xero accounting, direct feeds with your AFM account, your general ledger system will receive a feed with the transactions. This whole process can provide an automated solution for the handling and recording of transactions.
